At the present time, both the State House and Senate are considering bills to streamline the legal advertising requirements which are placed on government entities by the state.
Recently-introduced Senate Bill 419 and House Bill 795 will allow local governments to fulfill legal notice requirements by posting on an Internet website, instead of advertising in a newspaper.
THIS CAN POTENTIALLY SAVE TAXPAYERS MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. IN 2008, THE BOROUGH OF KUTZTOWN ALONE INCURRED OVER $26,000 IN LEGAL ADVERTISING FEES. Please take a moment to read the attached talking points
provided to us by the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs in support of these bills. If you agree, we strongly encourage you to call your local state senators and representatives to ask them to vote in favor of
Senate Bill 419 and House Bill 795 to STOP THIS WASTEFUL SPENDING FINALLY.
