Code Appeals Board

The Code Appeals Board meets on an as-needed basis and their objectives are to hear appellants’ requests for modifications and waivers from particular Kutztown Code regulations, and to make informed decisions based on evidence provided by both the appellant and the Borough’s Code Enforcement Officer. Environmental Advisory Commission
Two Member Vacancies
The Environmental Advisory Commission (EAC) meets monthly, and their objectives are to identify environmental problems, in the Borough, and to recommend plans and programs to protect and improve the quality of the environment. In addition, EAC makes recommendations about the use of open land; promotes community environmental programs; keeps an index of all open space areas to determine the proper use of such areas; reviews plans, conducts site visits, prepares reports for municipal officials; and advises local government agencies about the acquisition of property. The Housing License Appeals Board meets on an as-needed basis and their objectives are to hear appellants’ requests for modifications and waivers from particular Kutztown Code housing regulations, and to make informed decisions based on evidence provided by both the appellant and the Borough’s Code Enforcement Officer. Planning Commission
Recording Secretary Vacancy
The Planning Commission is a group of Borough residents appointed by Borough Council, whose primary responsibilities are to address the community’s wishes and needs through the development and implementation of a Comprehensive Plan, and to review the proposals for new developments and public projects in the Borough. Telecommunications Advisory Commission
Four Member Vacancies
The Telecommunications Advisory Commission (TAC) meets monthly, and their objectives are to research current trends in the telecommunications marketplace and make recommendations regarding the Borough’s operation of Home Net, the community’s fiber-to-the home Internet, television and telephone system. TAC consists of local resident volunteers whose mission is to ensure that the community receives the best telecommunications services possible. Zoning Hearing Board
Two Alternate Vacancies
The Zoning Hearing Board meets on an as-needed basis and their objectives are to hear appellants’ requests for relief from particular regulations contained in Kutztown Code Chapter 225, entitled “Zoning,” and to make informed decisions based on evidence provided by both the appellant and the Borough’s Zoning Officer.
