Gifts ‘N Things, a family owned business since 1976, was “created to assist you” with fundraising programs for schools and organizations throughout the country. President Kurt Koehler said that his parents originally established themselves in the Lehigh Valley, but moved to Kutztown in 1993 because they liked the area. Kurt and his wife, Traci, purchased the company in 1996, and Traci’s brothers, Steve and Ben Rainford, are an integral part in managing the company. As the business flourished, the need for more space took the operation to Fleetwood, for several years, before returning to Kutztown to an even larger building that was renovated and given new life by the company in 2016. Today, they support a wide variety of fundraising strategies, such as brochure, in-hand and online programs, and they offer a myriad of products tailored to each group’s specific fundraising needs.

Gifts ‘N Things also specializes in facilitating an annual staple in many school settings – the Holiday Gift Shops, which are holiday shopping programs that enable students to buy holiday gifts, for everyone on their lists, on a kid-friendly budget. According to Koehler, the Holiday Gift Shops are run in every state and have even expanded their reach to other countries, and all of this is managed within the confines of their expansive work space on Highland Avenue – from excellent customer service and storage to packing and shipping. Koehler says that he and the entire Gifts ‘N Things team, which ranges from 25-50 employees, depending on the time of year, pride themselves on their careful attention to detail and the hassle-free programs that make fundraising easy for the volunteers that run them.

Area residents will be happy to learn that Gifts ‘N Things opens its doors to the community twice each year. The Summer Warehouse Sale, in June, and the Winter Warehouse Sale, in December, are not to be missed, as most items are priced at $3.00 or less!
