A Pharmaceutical/Medication Drop Box is located on the second floor of the Kutztown Municipal Building across from the customer service counter. Unused or unwanted medication can be disposed of at this secure location, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
Citizens may place their unused medications into the collection box anonymously. Medications should remain in their original containers. Personal information on the labels should be crossed out, but information about the medication should be legible. Syringes should not be placed in the drop box. Opened containers of liquid will not be accepted unless they are completely sealed. Also review lists of accepted and NOT accepted items before depositing.

* Any medical syringes or needles generated in the home, such as those needed for diabetic insulin, are considered municipal waste. To properly dispose of such needles, please place them in a sturdy laundry bottle or coffee can and, when fully tightened, close the lid and place in your trash. Alternatively, you can purchase a needles collection and disposal system at CVS, Rite-Aid or any big box store, which will include a storage container and shipping for incineration.
